Welcome to Monday Morning Challenge, where we offer up a challenge, and share with you our designers take on that challenge. Today we asked our designers to use the Trick or Treat collection to create everyday layouts and cards. Always keep an open mind when looking at holiday and/or themed collections, as there are so many pieces that can fit into our everyday photos and memories.
“The Candy Factory”, by Kelly Holbrook.
Any good Halloween collection has to have embellishments about candy! That's one reason why I think the Trick or Treat collection worked for this non-Halloween themed layout. The other reason being the mix of super fun colors, they enhance the wall of candy bins perfectly.

“Cousins”, by Jennifer Chapin.
I knew that it wouldn't be too much of a challenge to create an everyday layout with the new Trick-or-Treat collection, mainly because the bright color palette can really go with anything! I chose some photos of my kids with their new baby cousin and blocked the background of my page with some patterned paper. I added embellishments, being sure to cover any Halloween themed parts. I love the pops of black along with the bright colors. You can see just how easy it is to integrate this collection into your everyday layouts! And of course I had to add some of my favorite Bella chipboard to finish the page off.
Trick-or-Treat: Spooky Town, All Webbed Up, Leaf Storm, Happy Owlween, Borders, Daily Details, Alpha+Bits, Captions, Paper Pieces; Snapshots: Captions, Bookplates; Designer Tape: Yellow Chevron, Piggy Pink Stripe; Simply Simona Chipboard Alphabets: Saltwater; Ciao Chip Elements: Trees
“BDAY 2 Day” card, by Kathy Martin.
Soon Halloween will pass and I’ll be working on other projects like cards and gifts for Christmas. So what will I do with all the bits and pieces left over from my adored Trick or Treat collection? Well…there are always birthdays that come up and the bright happy colors of this line are perfect for that! And what about a graduation card?
Trick or Treat: Spooky Town, Leaf Storm, Paper Pieces; Daily Chevies: Everyday Bookplates; High Five Alpha Stickers: Yellow; Crochet Hearts: Bell Pepper
“Star Grad” card, by Kathy Martin.
I love die cuts, negative cuts and dimension and recently I had an idea to create a negative die cut stack as I did with the stars on this graduation card. I love the layers it creates, how about you? To make these layers pop, use foam mounting tape or pop dots between each piece.
