We are so excited to introduce you to our 2013-2014 Design Team! We have spent the last two weeks getting to know each designer on our new design team. And now it's time to re-introduce you to Stephanie and myself.
Since I feel like most of you know me already, I thought it would be fun to have the new Design Team ladies throw out some randomness for a Question & Answer!
Nicole Nowosad asks, What’s your favorite part of owning your own business?
A: This is a great question that could have a very lengthy response. There are so many wonderful things about owning Bella Blvd. Mostly I love the complete creative freedom to design as I desire, and when I desire. Secondly, I love leading a team of people towards a common goal-like making Bella Blvd a success. The athlete in me loves the day-to-day challenges that require teamwork and attitude. Another huge perk would be the variety of work; From designing product collections, catalogs, marketing materials, to forecasting sales and working with every aspect of the business it never gets boring---and that’s key for a creative person like me! There are so many more great things about owning this company, but these are just a few of my favorites.
Becki Adams asks, I would love to know what your education is? What is your degree in?
A: I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design, and also a secondary emphasis on photography.
Tiffany Hood asks, What are your other hobbies besides paper crafting/designing?
A: I really enjoy cooking. I try a new recipe at least once a month…I think cooking is a creative thing! I also am a reality tv junkie. My Mr. and I DVR everything from The Amazing Race, Biggest Loser, Survivor, Grey’s Anatomy….and on and on! (Oh, and I’m embarrassed to admit that I have a Days of Our Lives groupie too!) I’m a runner/athlete-just finished my second marathon. I love to shop mostly for home décor items and who can leave out traveling.
Wendy Antenucci asks, How did you get started running? Why?
A: I started running more seriously in 2010 when my lil’ sis set some goals to finish a half-marathon. I trained with her on short runs & then really fell in love with the realization that I could compete with myself and try to beat my own times & distances. Now I run 4x a week. I’m not super fast, but really LOVE the stress relief it offers. Owning a company comes along with a lot of pressure & a lot of stress that running helps me release.
Stephanie Buice asks, If you did not run your own company what would be your next choice as a dream job?
A: I’ve always wanted to be an English teacher. I love writing and have kept a journal since I was in 4th grade.
Nicole Nowosad asks, If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
A: LOVE this question! I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel a lot, both during college (abroad) and now for Bella Blvd. But a dream that I’m not quite sure will ever come true would be to take an entire year to travel the world. Anywhere that I could discover different cultures & freedom would be amazing. Could you imagine dropping your entire life to get up and travel with a backpack around the world!?

Wendy Antennuchi asks, How did you get started with a daycare? I have no choice with my kids, but you do!
A: I spend 15 years working in the grocery industry, working really odd hours (3:00am to noon, 5:00pm to 2:00am, night crew, you name it) and being tired all the time when home with my girls. When we moved to the city we live in now, it just seemed like a good time to make a change. I love kids and kids love me. Little ones especially. While my days can be crazy and hectic, I love that I've been able to work at home for the last 12 years as a daycare provider. I'm here for my girls before and after school, when they're on school breaks and summer vacation, and that's very important to me.
Jodi Wilton asks, Besides paper crafting do you have any other hobbies or interests?
I do love decorating and doing little home improvement changes around the house. I'm a sucker for organizing. Anything and everything is fair game. I'm always reorganizing things, trying to find better ways of keeping things in their places. It's probably not the most productive "interest", but I do love my TV shows! I record so many that I can't keep up most of the time. But I love trying.
Tiffany Hood asks, How many completed albums have you made? I've seen pictures of your stacks of layouts.
I have roughly about 60+ albums. That would be 12 family albums, 6 albums for Alyssa, 6 albums for Sarah, 2 albums for myself, 3 travel/vacation albums, 8 school albums (4 for each of the girls), 4 sports albums (2 for each of the girls), 6 daycare albums, 10 old Creative Memories albums that I'm dying to go thru and par down, a Project Life album from years ago, and a few more random albums here and there. Overkill? Maybe. But I have been scrapping for almost 19 years, and those layouts do add up!
Becki Adams asks, When you go to the grocery store, what is in your cart? ... and Nicole Nowosad asks, Paper or plastic?
You can always find lots of soda (Diet CF Pepsi for me, Dr Pepper for the girls, and Pepsi for Joe), Gatorade for sports, and water for school and on-the-go. There is always an absurd amount of snacks, as I have lots of little daycare mouths to feed. Fruit and veggies, meat, bacon (LOTS!), potatoes, rice, pasta. Those are our go-to foods. And ice cream, of course! And paper or plastic? Neither if I can help it. I am really good about bringing my re-usable bags. And I tend to bag my own if I can, since after spending so many years in grocery, I have a knack for packing 5 times more in a bag than the average bagger.
Jen Chesnick asks, What's your least favorite thing to scrapbook (theme. Holiday etc)?
I have to say Christmas is a holiday that I dread scrapping. That sounds terrible, doesn't it? It's not the large amount of photos, as I LOVE to scrap birthday parties that have large amount of photos too. I'm honestly not sure why I have a hard time with Christmas layouts, but I really do struggle with them.
Katie Rose asks, How do you do it all??
I think I am good at making it look like I do it all, and that I do it all really well. But the truth of the matter is, I always have way too much going on at once. And while I DO get a ton done, if I'm being totally honest, not everything gets done as well as it should be done. But overall, I'm a great multi-tasker, my mind never shuts down, I have a hard time sitting and doing nothing, and I don't sleep a whole lot.
*** And to prove that I can't do it all, I will fully admit that I couldn't even manage to make 2 new layouts to share with you today. Lol. But I do have two layouts that are filled with Bella Blvd that I've never shared here, as they were created for other things (one created for Kerri Bradford Studio, and one created for Scrapbook & Cards Today).
