Twice a month, we'll be bringing you a new sketch, and showing you a few takes on the sketch by our designers. Today, we have our first sketch for October, courtesy of Becky Fleck. This time we're focusing on a card sketch.
“Life Is Better With You” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
I stuck with the original foundation of this sketch by adding the two panels with a border across the center. Next, I chose the focal point/sentiment and built around it in a way to keep with the general idea of the sketch. I wanted to add a little color to the center of the scalloped die cut so that I would have a nice backdrop for the white fluffy cloud.

“Wishing You A Happy Thanksgiving” card, by Diana Fisher.
The Thankful Collection is perfect for marking those great family get-togethers this season. Send someone a fun invite or thank them for being such a great hostess with a pretty card that reflects the season. I loved the sketch this month, too. It was perfect for using more than one pattern on a card.

“Bright Hello” card, by Ashley Marcu.
I love how easy it is to mix and match collections! On this card I used three collections to pull together a bright and cheerful card. I also love using stickers to customize my greeting. The options are endless!

“Trick or Treat” card, by Kathy Martin.
There’s so many possibilities and interpretations for today’s sketch! For my second card I created a little envelope to fill with one of Bella Blvd’s Paper Pieces notebook paper and colorful and wispy feather. Many times I snip off the tips for a quick accent but now I have a lot of end pieces that I wasn’t sure what to do with. I like the way the quill of the feather looks sticking out of the envelope, do you? Lots of layers and elements make a card fun to look at, to really look and not miss a thing.

“Hello Halloween” card, by Kathy Martin.
I find inspiration for my cards in so many places such as Pinterest, magazines, blogs and sketches. Inspired by this adorable Page Maps sketch, I used a Polaroid die in place of the pocket and filled it with lots of spook-tacular Bella Blvd goodies. An owl, a haunted house and a creepy spider! Have you ever started with a sketch and marveled at the result, how the design is completely different? That’s what came to mind when I finished this card, held it back and took a good look. One would never suspect I started with this sketch.
