We are bringing you lots of red, white, and blue this week, in honor of the 4th of July. Today is all about altered projects, and we even have a few projects perfect for celebrating Canada Day for our Canadian followers!
Star Wreath, by Wendy Antenucci.
I was waiting for the perfect time to make some 3D stars, using my Cameo they were very easy to cut and fold (I cut 36). I used my trusty glue gun to glue the different stars around my circular frame which I painted white.
We've just recently moved to a beach area, so my hubby thinks everything in our house should be beachy, so I added in a few shells, but gold hearts/stars would also look great! I strung the word America on twine that covered some thin wire I have, this gives my word stability and also allows me to bend my word to fit what I envisioned.

American Decor, by Wendy Antenucci.
I love canning jars that hold little scenes, they are so much fun to make and now with an abundance of shells and sand I can make these all the time! I started by decorating my jar with some stickers, chipboard, and other pieces that I fussy cut from the papers.
I then strung my banner of stickers across some twine and tied it onto these little sticks I just found at our grocery store (aren't they cute?). I couldn't resist trying out a few feathers in red and blue and then completing my project with a pinwheel.

Canada Day Photo Props, by Jennifer Edwardson.
Canada Day is a HUGE day at our house, as Em and Alex really like to get into the celebrations. This year we are having family and friends come over to watch the fireworks over the ocean from our front yard so I've been getting a few things ready for the party! Photo props are so popular right now so I wanted to customize some for my guests on Canada Day! I chose a couple of templates for my Silhouette and got to work.
I cut the 'glasses' from a piece of McIntosh Sophisticates and then backed it onto a piece of white cardstock to give it some more strength. Then I adhered this to a long white candy stick and embellished each one.
I LOVE the Bella feathers and they were perfect for the glasses. I cut some maple leaves using a Silhouette template as well and added these as well as a fun flag and some buttons too. My kids LOVED these and are excited to share them with their friends for silly photos at our party.
I also whipped up some different sized pin wheels for them to use in their pics as well. I added the maple leaf die cuts to the center with a Bella button for each.
Canda Day Candle Holders, by Jennifer Edwardson.
Since we'll be outside on the deck late for the fireworks I thought I'd create some festive candle holders. I used the negative pieces from the leaf cuts and cut them to size for some glass flower vases that I had tucked away.
I created the smaller one by adding designer tape to the patterned paper and then ran it through the Silhouette. It cut like a dream and made a cute border for this vase and I was able to use the leaf pieces on the glasses too. I added some tea lights to them both and can't wait to put them on the deck for the fireworks. It's going to be a great party …. Happy Canada Day everyone!

USA Altered Tray, by Sheri Feypel.
I have a shelf in my dining room that I change up for each holiday. I have lots of store bought decor and like to mix it with handmade. This artist tray is going to mix well with the rest of my red, white and blue decor. I added all sorts of little details, punched out stars, made flags from some of the stickers. I added lots of layers and dimension with, of course pop dots!
