Today we have more free-for-all card shares from our card designers. But this month, just as I have done with our layout designers, I have also added in some fun challenges for the designers to take on as they create their cards. The challenge for this week was to create cards that incorporate gift card and money holders.
“Birthday Wishes” money card, by Shellye McDaniel.
For this card I was inspired by the party hat shape on the Cute Cuts paper. To begin, I set out folding a bill into a triangle shape that best matched the size of the party hat. Next, I cut slits into the background paper and inserted the bottom two points through them. I attached the Cute Cuts hat to the background paper and then tied the folded money in place with a ribbon bow. The hippo cut-out was then added over the party hat motif with foam dots.

“Sweet Birthday” gift card holder card, by Shellye McDaniel.
My mom's birthday is coming up, so I crafted this card with her in mind! She's very hard to buy for, so a gift card is always a good idea. I started out by using my die-cut circles to cut a 5" circle from a green paper, a 4" circle from a plain green cardstock and then a 3.25" circle from a red paper. I folded the largest circle in half and cut along the mark. Next, I machine-stitched around the bottom edge to form a pocket. The other two circles halves were layered on top and then embellished!

"For a Super Great Friend" card, by Gretchen McElveen.
For this card I wanted the gift card holder to be on the front of the card to leave lots of room to write on the inside. I cut the blue pocket out of the "Short Stories" sheet from the Sophisticates line and punched a 1/2 circle in the top to create a tab. I adhered the pocket to the front of the card with adhesive only around the sides & the bottom so a gift card will fit right inside. Thanks for looking!

"Baby Love" card, by Gretchen McElveen.
On this card I decorated the front and then created a pocket on the inside to hold a gift card. I've combined the All American line with some pieces from the Baby Boy line to make an easy baby card/gift (it's never a bad idea to have some of these on hand!). The blues and grays in these 2 different lines coordinate very well! And I used a bit of bling to add more red to the card. Thanks for looking!

“Happy Birthday” gift card holder card, by Sheri Feypel.
I created this card with a little pocket on the front to slip a gift card into. I thought it would be fun to have the "gift" on the outside of the card rather than falling out of the card when the recipient opened it (which is fun too). I used foam adhesive behind the polka dot pattern to create a pocket for the gfit card to be inserted. It can be slipped in right behind the yellow chevron, or attached to it so that when it is pulled out the gift card will come out with it as well.

“Amazing Birthday” trifold card, by Sheri Feypel.
I wanted to try something different and came up with a trifold card that you can slip money into. You can slip the money right underneath purple flag to keep it in place. I added a removable glue dot to keep the card closed mostly because I cannot refrain from using foam adhesive, both inside and out. I also used a few of the word stickers to create some fun flags on the front of the card for a little extra something-something.
