Beach Party Set, by Jennifer Edwardson.
Summer BBQ's are huge for us as we live in a beach side community. Whether it's a backyard beach themed get together or a picnic on the beach, Sand & Surf is the perfect collection for party EVERYTHING. Invitations, favors, menus, table décor, pretty straw embellishments and my personal fave, wine charms.
I started with these 2 wicker pieces that I found at a local discount store. As cute as the table caddy was I wanted to really dress it up so it could be a permanent part of the summer table décor.
To start, I added knots to my twine every couple of inches and then added a wooden button as I wove it throughout the base of the caddy. Once I had it all the way around I tucked mini glue dots behind each button to make it stay exactly where I wanted it.
I folded the new Hot Pink Dot Designer Tape in half lengthwise and wove it in and out of the wicker just below the twine all the way around. I created a 'title' piece using patterned paper, Just Write Journaling Stickers and more designer tape. I am LOVING the new feathers, so I added a couple in behind my layered flower and tucked a flag in the center with a button & twine bow too.
I am so happy with how the straws came together. I cut strips of patterned paper approx. 1 1/4" wide by 3", sanded the edges and used the largest circle on my Crop A Dile to punch holes in the top and bottom to slide them over the straw. I used stickers, Cute Cuts and Designer Tape to create fun embellishments on the paper slides. Stick them in the kids drinks and they know who's is who's.
The coordinating napkin holder was cute but it had some funny bits of wicker tied to the center of it so I laminated a large flower sticker, punched 2 tiny holes in the center, wrapped twine around the bar and then up and thru the center of the flower and tied it off with a wooden button. Just had to add one more button and a fun phrase and it matched perfectly with the table caddy.
Everyone always needs wine charms (right, girls?) and this collection has the PERFECT bits for a really cute set. These were super easy to make. I chose the pieces I wanted from the Cute Cuts and stickers and ran them through my laminating machine. Once they cooled, I precision cut around them, punched a tiny hole in the edge and added narrow binder rings to each – so easy and so cute.
Last but not least, this party needed a menu. The fun bright colors of this collection work for any summer décor so I used the aptly named 'Paradise' paper for my base and then continued to scrapbook the rest, adding the menu and games list where the photos would have been. As I've said before, I am a big Designer Tape lover, so I had to use more of the new colors on this mini project as well. I ribbon folded it back and forth and then pressed it down flat along the edges of the green base, menu and game list. All that was left was the title using my favorite High Five Alphabets and this party set is complete.

Staggared Frame Set, by Jennifer Edwardson.
I had so much fun creating this project for my new sister-in-law as a keepsake from their honeymoon. I wanted to give her a few mementos that are not in an album for them to remember this special trip. She wants to be a scrapbooker and is just starting to jump in so I thought these fun projects would help keep her motivated.
I've had this staggered wooden frame set in my collection for some time and wasn't ready to use it until I saw this fabulous tropical collection. I covered the base first, sanded off the edges and then re-created the grooves for the photo boards.
After choosing my photos I treated each piece like a mini layout and added paper strips, stickers and die cut shapes.
Cute Cuts are one of my very favorite pieces in each collection and this one was no different. The palm trees were absolutely perfect for Jeff & Brianne's photos, but the feathers. Oooooh, I LOVE these feathers!
I added bits of twine in a few of my favorite Bella buttons and added them both in front and off to the side towards the back too. A few flags, a journal card, a few more cute cuts, the date and it is good to go.
Supplies:
Sand & Surf: Borders, Cute Cuts,
Under The Coconuts, GPS, Surfs Up, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Alpha+Bits
Stickers, Flags; Button Market: Checkers, Masculine Mix; Feathers: Pickle Juice
and Ice; Freestyle Sophisticates: Saltwater
Memory Jar, by Jennifer Edwardson.
I have always been one of those girls that keeps a little bit of everything when we go on trips. You know ticket stubs, receipts and even shells, rocks, and yes, even sand. Now I have to be honest. I'd love to tell you that it was me that went on this incredible trip, but this is my brother-in-law and brand new sister-in-law on their honeymoon. Though they didn't bring me any sand back from Bora Bora, I really wanted to create this great keepsake for them to remember their trip. Since I live on a beach (a MUCH colder beach), I dried this sand and used 2 of my favorite photos from their vacation.
I adhered these 2 photos onto a piece of patterned paper that was approximately 1" longer than the photo so I had something to sink into the sand so that I didn't lose any of the photo. Then I 'scrapbooked' it a little by adding border stickers, tabs on the top and word stickers too.
The coordinating Chipboard Icons were PERFECT to embellish with. I lightly sanded the edges of the letters and created this 'title' for their photo along with waves, a palm tree and some sunshine too.
Don't forget the back of the jar where I added bathing suits and throughout the 'beach' I tucked in buttons for pretty colored 'rocks' and 'shells'.
Supplies:
Sand & Surf: Chipboard Icons, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Alphas+Bits
Stickers; Button Market: Tie Dye, Checkers, Pickle Squares, Neutral Mix, Orange
