Inspiration is all around us, and can be interpreted in so many different ways. We have chosen one image, and asked a handful of our designers to create a layout based on the inspiration piece. It's always fun to see what part of a piece a designers finds inspiring, and how they translate that into their designs.

"Fall", by Becky Williams.
When I saw the inspiration piece for this assignment I knew right away what I would do. I found a great Silhouette Studio cut file and enlarged it to fit most of my 12x12 and printed pictures from my family's recent pumpkin patch trip and cut them to hang right from the branches of the tree. I then free-hand cut some pieces of paper from the Thankful collection to make a hill for the tree to stand on. The sun on the page is actually a flower from the Thankful Cute Cuts paper and I added a button to the center.
Supplies:
Thankful: Bountiful, Homey, Our Spot, Cute Cuts, Alpha+Bits Stickers; Designer Tape: Red Dot, Gulf Dot; Button Market: Zebra
“Little Dancer”, by Malika Kelly.
The dangling circles in the inspiration image are what caught my eye right away. I decided to punch out my own circles in a variety of sizes from the Kiss Me collection. I stitched them together to make my own stringed circle banners. The colors in the Kiss Me collection are soft and worked well with the pictures of my 3 year old doing ballet. I stitched over my title to keep the theme of horizontal lines across the page.
Supplies:
Kiss Me: Bouquet Kisses, Love Notes, Flutter, True Love, Mustache Love, Borders and Cute Cuts, Alpha+Bits Stickers, Just Write Journaling Stickers; Sophisticates: Sprinkles & Lace Ice; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Punch; Ciao Chip Elements: Stars & Hearts; Designer Tape: Pony Dot, Piggy Pink Stripe; Button Market: Stars, Hot Pink Flowers
“Autumn”, by Sheri Reguly.
What I love most about working with an inspiration piece, is how it can jumpstart your creativity, and even encourage you to try something new. So many of my designs tend to be streamlined, with perfectly straight edges and borders (Yes, sometimes I even bring out my ruler to make sure that those borders are all exactly even). I had so much fun working with the circles and curves within this design to create a carefree, light-hearted feel. I even lived on the edge and tilted my photo just a little a bit. That’s a pretty big deal for me.
Supplies:
Thankful: Perfect Day, Our Spot, Alpha+Bits Stickers; Spring Flings & Easter Things: Mom’s Bouquet; Birthday Girl: Borders; Sunshine & Happiness: Miniatures Stickers; Finally Fall: Miniatures Stickers; Sophisticates: Card Sentiments; High Five Alpha Stickers: Piggy-Punch
"So Many Of My Smiles Begin With You", by Gina Lideros.
I wanted to create a bright and cheerful layout about love using the brand new Kiss Me collection, but did not have a good photo of my husband and I on hand, so I decided to make my layout about the love between siblings instead. It is rare that I am able to capture a good photo of my two children together, and even more rare to find them actually admitting that they like each other. But deep down, (between you and me) they really adore each other. I started my layout by cutting a large tree out of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I used my Slice to cut hearts, flowers and leaves out of the Flutter and True Love papers. To add dimension, I slightly creased my shapes before adhering them to the tree.
Supplies:
Kiss Me: Bouquet Kisses, Borders & Cute Cuts, True Love, Flutter, Alpha+Bits Stickers, Just Write Journaling Stickers; Button Market: Pink Flowers
